IFAT 2014 visit May 5-9 2014

Under Action 5.1 “DAIRIUS Exploitation potential and long-term commercialization of pilot plant“ and ACTION 6: “Networking“ of DAIRIUS project, representatives of the project partner Green Technologies Ltd (namely Dr. Constantina Zafiri) and University of Patras (namely Assoc. Prof. Michael Kornaros and mr. Alexandros Kopsacheilis), visited the world’s leading Trade Fair for water, sewage, waste and raw materials management IFAT 2014 organized in Messe Munich, Germany from May 5th - 9th 2014.

IFAT 2014 is the largest trade fair for the environmental solutions in the world providing a unique exhibiting venue and a single access point to the entire European environmental market. The statistics of IFAT 2014 show that there were over 135,000 visitors from approx. 170 countries and 3,081 exhibitors from 59 nations in an exhibit space over 230,000 m2.

During the Fair, all European leading companies in the field of anaerobic digestion were visited. Important meetings took place between the DAIRIUS members and representatives of nine major companies in the field of anaerobic digestion and environmental management, in general. The DAIRIUS concept, the purpose and the results to date, with special emphasis in the design, installation and operation of the DAIRIUS pilot system was presented to representatives from these companies. All of them showed interest to the concept and promised that they will propose it to their own potential customers.
